There is an inscription with the words Princesse de Lamballe and a date that looks like 1776 at the right side of the lower tenth. I cannot resolve what may be the artist’s signature.
From tiny-librarian.tumblr.com/post/107907387292/portrait-of-marie-louise-of-savoy-princesse-de. I fixed a flaw that looked like a torn thread of canvas on the subject’s right sleeve and the upper left corner looked like it had been folded and discolored so I also fixed that.
Princess Lamballe’s coiffure is more 80s than 70s. Her hair in not powdered and her neckline is very low.
