The Court of Empress Eugénie
This image could date from 1870 given the early bustle dress worn by the standing Lady facing Empress Eugénie as well as the two to the left.
From the New York City Public Library collection; sepia tint removed by gogm.
Many of Eugénie's Ladies wear floral headdresses while the Empress wears a tiara as well as a dress that appears to be a late-model crinoline rather than a bustle.
