Empress Eugénie sat for a set of photographs wearing an early bustle dress with square neckline enhanced by a lace tucker, such as this one. I have an image from an 1873 Illustrated London News of the Empress based on a photo from this set, maybe the next image in this subalbum.

Empress Eugénie wears an elaborate coiffure from around 1870 and her dress appears to have a bustle. Her long sleeves end in engageantes-like lace cuffs and a lace tucker conceals part of her square neckline.
