Pauline Metternich may be wearing one of the earliest cage crinolines in this 1854 photograph by Krone.

The cage crinoline came out around this time and the trend setting Pauline Sandor Metternich could be wearing one of the first models. I see no evidence of petticoats and the bottom skirt looks like it is being supported from beneath.
