Avdotya wears an Empire dress with a typical square neckline modified with a frilly vee neckline that becomes a neckline ruff provided by her chemise in this Kiprensky portrait. She appears to be wearing dual sleeves - if so and if this portrait dates to 1814 - this may be the earliest depiction of dual upper-puffed sleeves.
