This commemorative print shows aristocratic wedding dress was excellent evening and special occasion dress. Note Gaston is wearing what would later be called a cuirasse bodice. Marie's dress has upper sleeves that look like jeweled barrels with under-sleeves tapering from just below elbow to wrist. I rate barrel sleeves on a scale from 1 being very bad to 4 being superbly elegant a minus 2.
