Costanza Sforza Colonna, wife of Francesco I Sforza di Caravaggio by Scipione Pulzone (location ?)

According to her genealogical sketch, the dates she lived between are unknown. This is interesting for someone born to one leading family who married into another. I dated this into the 1570s based on her coiffure, but she had two children in 1576 and 1577.

Costanza’s coiffure is amazingly complex with the vee haped curl with small curls in front and braids behind in this Pulzone portrait. Her gold-embroidered silk bodice has a vee neckline filled in with her chemise. A sheer garment called a “partlet” in the keywords covers the top of her chemise.
