1570s Clelia Farnese by Jacopo Zucchi (Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica, Rome)

jacopo Zucchi shows Clelia Farnese wearing a stunning floral headdress, lace ruff, and substantial carcanet necklace. She was the daughter of the cardinal Alessandro Farnese (son of the Pope Paul III).

The Wikipedia article for Jacopo Zucchi is here.

This shows the influence of Spanish style in Italy. She was probably wearing a saya for this portrait with the high enclosing neckline set off by a ruff and somber black color.
