Anne Boleyn


The face of Anne Boleyn, wife number two, for Henry VIII, "Anne of a thousand days." Her daughter, who became the historic Queen Elizabeth, was named after Henry's mother, Elizabeth of York.

Anne Boleyn is the "poster child" for the French hood. According to p. 340 of Herbert Norris' Tudor Costume and Fashion, the French hood that Anne Boleyn popularized in England had displaced the gabled English hood by 1530 in England.
