1902 Princess Irene of Prussia, née Hesse

Literacy recurs as a theme in portraits of royals and nobles.

From the Bain collection of the USA Library of Congress. I cannot resolve the studio label at bottom right.

Irene of Hesse's shoulders are framed by the sleeve's over-strap and side band and the bodice appears to be yoked and vee waisted. The sleeve is decorated with a clasp above and a bow below.

Keywords:  1902, Princess Irene of Hesse, Princess, Hesse family, Hohenzollern family, German, straight coiffure, tiara, hair jewelry, square neckline, yoke bodice, vee waistline, bare shoulder sleeves, bows, necklace, earrings, brooch, clasps, bracelets
