Beatrice by Carl Backofen

This is not the exact image posted to Foro Dinastias by Katyusha on 26 January 2011 that was sepia toned and covered by myriad small spots. I used a number of Photoshop tools to clean up the spots and then removed the sepia tone over a period of several days.

A substantial bustle protrudes behind Princess Beatrice in this photo dating it to the second bustle era in the middle and late 1880s. Her simple dress has a cuirasse bodice and/or tablier over an over-skirt slit to reveal a pleated under-skirt. There appears to be a row of closely-spaced buttons on the front of her bodice and a brooch at the base of her neck enclosing collar.
