She was photographed wearing this dress in a group portrait taken with her daughters in mourning for their lost brother in 1892.

Alexandra's dress has a cuirasse bodice while her jacket has long sleeves with raised upper arms. Her jacket has lapels running from around her neck down to the hem. She wears a pin with the letter "G" (for Glucksberg?) seen in many pictures of her.
