1908 Prince and Princess of Wales open Franco-British exhibition from The Bystander of 20 May 1908
Prince George appears to step off of HMS Pinafore. Cultural exchanges were used during the Cold War to thaw out USSR-USA relations, something that may be in order now to avoid war between the eagerly aggressive USA and Putin's increasingly aggressive and once aggrieved Russia. The visit covered in this issue of The Bystander took the world towards war that came in less than a decade.
