Comtesse de Pourtales wearing a 1600s re-creation

The Comtesse de Pourtales, probably Berthe de Pourtales, wears a Worth dress, possibly a re-creation of a ca. 1700 mantua from the days of Louis XIV for a costume ball. The first bustle period of the early 1870s started the second bustle era, the first bustle era spanning from about 1685 to 1715.
