Mme. Élisabeth et Marie Antoinette s'embrassant by Alexandre Moitte (Palais des Beaux-Arts, Lille France)

Photo - Stéphane Marechalle.

Marie-Antoinette and Madame Elisabeth wear dresses with one pouff that form a bustle-like appendage in back, robes à la Circassienne, in this Moitte picture. This portrait is undated, but the high straight coiffures and lack of curls suggest this is from the late 1770s so this image is placed around 1780 in the sequence of images in this subalbum. Madame Elisabeth was Louis XVI's youngest sister and she suffered the same fate as Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.
