Marie-Antoinette in court dress

This court dress worn by Marie-Antoinette in this print and the last one by LeClerc have many similarities. The revers turn sideways to become the edges of her over-skirt. Gros de Naples was a heavy silk fabric with a dull finish, amply conveyed in this print. Controlling rolling motion and inertia of the huge panniers was probably a constant struggle.
