ca. 1775 Court Skirt & Train associated with Queen Marie Antoinette of France (Fashion Institute of Design and Mechandising Museum and Galleries - Los Angeles, California USA)

From blog.fidmmuseum.org/museum/2010/04/donors-make-the-museum.html; spots and streaks removed from background with Photoshop by gogm.

The bodice is presumably a simulation, but the skirt is made of one piece of cloth woven with a polka-dot and a vegetative motif. However, the modiste appears to have placed serpentine strips of lace on the maroon portion of the skirt and a strip of passementerie along the hem. The over-skirt-train is of complementary maroon decorated with a vegetative motif.
