SUBALBUM:  Princess Royal Anne, Princess of Orange

According to her Wikipedia article, Georg Friedrich Händel taught her music. She was to marry Louis XV, but the French required her to become Roman Catholic so the negotiations ended. She married Prince of Orange Willem IV. When her husband died at the age of 40 in 1751, Anne was appointed regent for her 3 year-old son, Prince Willem V. She was hard-working, but arrogant and imperious, which made her unpopular. The 1750s were years of increasing tension and commercial rivalry between Holland and Britain, which placed her in a difficult position.
