The UK had a lingering squabble over whether the Stuarts should rule. Louise, age 20, married Bonnie Prince Charlie (age 52), the Jacobite claimant to the British crown, in person in 1772. He had successfully invaded England in 1745, but retreated back into Scotland on hearing that a strong army was coming after him. There wasn't such an Army, but the English raised one and sent it after Charlie. The English, under the Hanoverian Duke of Cumberland, decisively defeated the Scots at Culloden Moor in 1746. The following century proved difficult for the Scots.
Their marriage was, according to her Wikipedia article, initially a success, but it soured after about two years.
