ca. 1740 Wilhelmine von Hessen-Kassel by circle of Antoine Pesne (auctioned by Reiss & Sohn)

Her Wikipedia article is here. I had originally confused her with her older sister Ulrike Friederike Wilhelmine who married into the Oldenburg family.

From Wikimedia; light reflecting from thin ridges in the upper center background suppressed with a noise suppression tool and similar shiny ridges in the bottom center were suppressed manually using Photoshop by gogm. The image was made lighter as much as practical by gogm.

Princess Wilhelmine's skirt rises up on both sides while her dress lacks the lace engageantes that were de rigueur in the middle 1700s. Her dress may be decorated with a large bow in back.
