A Masquerade

One of the provenances for the styles shown in this album. The costumes at the lower left look Disneyesque - maybe from Snow White.

From Lacroix, P., The Eighteenth Century - Its Institutions, Customs, and Costumes - 1700-1789 as reproduced in Tara Maginnis' essential costume history site "The Costumer's Manifesto."

The Ladies in the center wear panniers à cupole while many spectators wear waffle panniers and a Lady to the left may be wearing a polonaise.
