1781-1782 Frances, Countess of Lincoln by Sir Joshua Reynolds (Wallace Collection, London UK)

From topofart.com.

The Countess wears big curls in 1770s style, but with curly or even frizzy hair, and a fichu to fill in her square décolletage in her Reynolds portrait from 1781-1782. I cannot identify the object above her coiffure; it looks like a small cap or a ribbon or bow.
