1767 Louisa Leveson Gower as Spes (Goddess of Hope) by Angelika Kauffmann (private collection)

Her article in thepeerage is here.

From Wikimedia.

The full sleeves help distinguish Louisa's dress from something from the Directoire period and show her dress is derived from British casual style. Her shoulders may be bare, a feature seen in the early 1900s.
