1745 (before) Lady Charlotte Finch, née Fermor by John Robinson (National Portrait Gallery - London UK)

Her Wikipedia article is here. She became governess to Queen Charlotte's children and was portrayed four decades later. For another Lady Charlotte Finch, click here.

When I first saw this, I thought this was a Lely or Kneller portrait of some other Charlotte Fermor. Her puffed and slashed (at the shoulder) sleeves and split bodice are very 1600s. The flared cuffs show how engageantes are made and folded. Her skirt shows no evidence of being supported.
