1739 Lady Caroline Ponsonby, Viscountess Duncannon, née Cavendish in Venetian costume by Jean-Etienne Liotard (Stansted Park Home Gallery - Rowland's Castle, Hampshire, UK)

Her article in thepeerage is here. I can find no mention of overseas service in her husband's Wikipedia article. However, according to Liotard's Wikipedia article, Liotard did accompany an Earl of Bessborough, either her father-in-law or her husband, to Turkey. Maybe they went to Venice during this time.

The portrait may date to 1742-3. I cannot find a lead to a firm date.

Lady Caroline wears a theatrical dress with a plunging décolletage over a partlet provided by her chemise. Her dress appears to have tight sleeves that end in flared square-cut panels attached at a diagonal over sleeves from her chemise that droop down about 30 cm. Her dress also has a cape.
