Dutch dress could be austere, but Charlotte's dress has ornamented cloth with gold fronds and full engageantes plus she wears a magnificent diamond headdress. She also wears what looks like a pair of gold key and watch holders or chatelaines. Her wide gloves lend a utilitarian flavor to the portrait.
