ca. 1672-1675 Lady Borlase by Gerard Soest (National Gallery of Art - Washington, DC, USA)

A nearly identical copy “by  or after or studio of” Soest is located at Sudbury Hall in Sudbury, Derbyshire, UK. Artuk identifies the artist as Gilbert Soest, the National Gallery of Art identifies him as Gerard Soest. Wikipedia identifies him as Gerard Soest who was also known as Gerald Soest.

Hurluberlu coiffures have crossed the channel, although only the handlebar tendrils are part of Lady Borlase’s coiffure.
