1910 Comtesse de la de la Maitrie in equestrian dress by Charles Albert Walhain (private collection)

My attempt to find biographical/genealogical information about a comtesse de la de la Maitrie found nothing but many more images of the comtesse de Greffulhe. Maybe this was another title the Greffulhe’s picked up along the way or a slang reference to the Countess. For this reason, this is also posted to the comtesse de Greffulhe’s Subalbum here.

This shows how masculine style, right down to the bowler hat, high lapels, collar, vest, and boutonnière, dominated equesrtienne dress.
