Van Dyck painted several of Ladies in basque dresses with skirts adorned with T-shaped stripes, high necklines, and deep ruffs. A single line of gold ornaments runs from hem to neckline where it is joined by gold-ornamented sleeves tabs, the crucifix, and the bodice ornament. The hanging sleeves hang to the floor.
