She administered the Spanish Netherlands from 1601 until 1633, roughly a third of the Dutch Golden Age. This was an era of great artistic achievement there. She was patron of Peter Paul Rubens, Pietr Brueghel the Younger, Coebergher, the de Noles, the van Veens, and others, launching a golden age in the Spanish Netherlands (approximately modern Belgium).
