Brou is a former royal monestary located in the eastern town of Bourg-en-Bresse.

Pierre Gobert portrays the Duchess in a fanciful pose in a portrait casual dress with a criss-cross bodice partially covered by the lace of her chemise. Her chemise also gushes with lace engageantes from her notched sleeves.
