ca. 1700-1715 Lady Onslow, née Elizabeth Knight attributed to Hans Hysing (Clandon Park - West Clandon, Guildford, Surrey, UK) From pinterest.com:lmmalter:historical-fashion-18th-century:

What is remarkable is that Lady Onslow is wearing this simple dress and coiffure when ornate mantuas and Fontanges were in style. The full skirt, sleeves with turned up and flared cuffs, and deep U neckline are signs of things to come. The skirt probably uses crinoline- or pannier-like supports. It does not have a sacque back so it is not a robe volante. This portrait is readily datable because of her fripon curls.
