Elizabeth Horsley Palmer by Sir Thomas Lawrence (auctioned by Sotheby's)

Her article in thepeerage is here.

Elizabeth was born in 1783, so this is an amazingly, especially for the era, well-preseved Lady. So should this image be placed around 1803? The complex sleeves and slightly lower than Empire waistline say no. She could be heavily made up (look at her lustrous complexion) and avoiding sun, as was fashionable, helps to prevent wrinkles. However, the combination of youth and dress suggests she may be around 30. The British were partial to sweetheart necklines at this time.
