ca. 1794 Henriette Marie Laurence de Najac, née Leconte by Duc (Tansey Miniatures Foundation collection, Bomann-Museum - Celle, Niedersachsen, Germany)

According to her genealogical sketch, she was born in Puducherry in what was French colonial India. Puducherry is a part of India along with three other former French colonial enclaves as the union territory of Puducherry. The city of Puducherry is located on India’s east coast, somewhat north of Sri Lanka.

Her husband, Benoit Georges de Najac, was politically active during the French Revolution and held high positions in the French Navy during Napoléon’s reign.
