Dress and stole, brought to Vienna as part of her trousseau by Empress Elisabeth, embroidered with Hebrew print

The fullness, flounces, and detailed embellishment of the dress are again staggering.

This dress is amazing. The under-skirt has white ruffles 3/4 way down then ends in green-trimmed ruffles. The over-skirt is without ruffles, except around its hem that is edged ruching with green trim matching the ruffles of the under-skirt, sleeves, and neckline. Only a beautiful woman could risk wearing such a dress, otherwise it would wear her. The dress is for use in the summer, although masses of petticoats would still make it heavy. It reminds me of Scarlet O'Hara's dress, that had a crinoline for help, in Gone with the Wind.
