1842 Marie-Marguerite Foucher, marquise de Circé, sœur du peintre Léopold Burthe by Amaury Duval (location ?)

I did find genealogical information for this daughter of New Orleans here and here.

From Wikimedia; enlarged by half and filled in shadows.

Marie-Marguerite wears a good example of an 1840s evening dress with tight sleeves and a bodice that uses darts to emphasize shape. The fullness of the skirt is gathered at her waistline leading to more shape-emphasizing lines.
