1840 Harriet (Canning), Marchioness of Clanricarde by T.W. Knight after John Lucas April's detint

Here is an early Victorian formal dress without a dee[ vee waistline. Lady Harriet's dress also lacks the lace bertha and engageantes of the era. Her dark lace veil adds a striking note to this simple dress.
