1840 Blanche Georgiana Howard (1812-40); posthumous portrait in the dress worn at the wedding of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert by John Lucas (Chatsworth House - Bakewell, Derbyshire UK)

This portrait was completed between 1841 and 1842; the date in the title is the date when she wore the dress. The color combination used for this dress reappeared a little over a century later in some automobiles. What is elegant for a dress may not work elsewhere. She was also Countess of Burlington.

Lady Georgiana wears a two-color dress with a narrow skirt in this portrait showing her as she dressed in 1840.
