While not as dramatic as the equivalent in Contessa Giustina's portrait, Anna Caffarelli wears a lace bertha that reaches above the neckline of the bodice to form a modesty piece. The ribbons of her headdress and the bows of her dress are formed from what could be called lengths of ornamental twine.
