Violet Gertrude Twining married George Augustus Chichester, 5th Marquess of Donegall, son of Edward Chichester, 4th Marquess of Donegall and Amelia Spread Deane Grady, on 23 December 1902. She died on 8 October 1952.
She was the daughter of Henry St. George Twining. She was decorated with the award of Order of Mercy. She was invested as a Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.). From 23 December 1902, her married name became Chichester. As a result of her marriage, Violet Gertrude Twining was styled as Marchioness of Donegall on 23 December 1902.
